Ski MOT vs Physio Assessment – what’s the difference?
Unfortunately for Brits Skiing isn’t something we can do regularly in the UK throughout the year even with our brilliant dry ski slopes. Skiing works your joints and muscles in a very heavily loaded and unpredictable way. Pure Physio Sports Ski MOT is for anyone looking to see what kind of shape they are in and how well prepared they are for Skiing.Â
Initial meeting in the Clinic
First you will arrive at our custom clinic with a gym space. You will be greeted by your Physiotherapist and taken into the assessment room, so come dressed for the assessment in sports clothes.Â
Full History
We will take a history of your skiing, health and fitness and any previous Skiing or sports related injuries.
Objective assessment
After gathering the history, we will complete a thorough assessment of your leg and lower back joints assessing mobility and flexibility. Then we will test the strength of the leg and back Musculature, finally we will move on to some power testing using jump profiles.Â
Education and Treatment
At this point our Sports Physiotherapist will discuss the overall findings of the assessment and different areas you can work on to be ready for Skiing. A report will be generated highlighting your test scores and shared goals to achieve ahead of Skiing. Â
Home Exercises
At this point you will be given a set of exercises tailored specifically to your needs, this will help you be in peak condition for Skiing and reduce your chances of getting injured.
Payment and re-booking
Finally, the Sports Physiotherapist will take payment and book you in for a re-test session where necessary. You can then get changed again, if needed, and head on out into your day.Â
We look forward to seeing you and getting you slope savvy this season!
