Osteoarthritis Intermediate Exercise Programme

We recommend consulting a musculoskeletal physiotherapist to ensure exercises are best suited to your recovery. If you are carrying out an exercise regime without consulting a healthcare professional, you do so at your own risk. If you have any concerns whilst completing these exercises, please contact a healthcare professional.

More Plans

Early Exercise plan

These simple exercises can help improve movement and strength around the affected joint (e.g. hip, knee or low back). This can promote pain relief, improve range of motion and reduce your pain. Try these exercises two-three times a day, when able.

Advanced Exercise plan

These final exercises are more global and dynamic, often using multiple joints to develop more global strength and conditioning. As these are more physically demanding, these exercises can be performed three to four times per week, like a gym programme.
