Coronavirus Update

After the recent government update regarding the lockdown and phased reopening, Pure Physiotherapy’s face to face services will remain closed.

Whilst we are positively encouraged that the phases will help us move in the right direction, our main concern is the protection of our patients, team and the community. There are several factors we consider when deciding if reopening our face to face services would be appropriate. Factors such as:

  • Legal, regulatory and professional responsibilities
  • Risk assessment of the working environment for which we are responsible
  • Infection prevention and control measures
  • Access to personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Availability of remote alternatives
  • Patient risk assessment and clinical reasoning
  • Patient consent for treatment

Furthermore, The Chartered Society of Physiotherapists has produced comprehensive guidance for physiotherapists to follow. The following paragraph has strongly guided our decision:

“In the short, the clinician must be able to justify that the benefits of seeing a patient face to face are demonstrably greater than the risk of transmission”.

We are acutely aware that the need for physiotherapy services will rise in the upcoming weeks due to the lockdown measures. However, due to the serious nature of COVID-19, we do not feel we can justify that the benefits outweigh the risks.

We are eagerly following the situation and reviewing our position regularly. In the meantime, we have taken the time to ensure measures are put in place to ensure the safest possible environment for when we do reopen.

Even though our clinics are shut, we are still here for you. We are currently offering the following remote services:

  • Online physiotherapy appointments
  • Online Pilates classes

Please get in touch if you have any questions or concerns.
